Watercolor
I was initially inspired to take watercolor because of paintings such as the one exampled below. Although I am not nearly at the skill level of paintings like this I still think that this class was a good use of time because it gave motivation and inspiration to be creative and think differently. A realization I have had during this semester is that watercolor is both easier and harder than I thought it would be.
I think my style is mainly focused on landscape type of paintings rather than a painting where there is one main subject. I have tried both of these styles and I prefer to paint landscapes a lot more. I think with landscapes you have a set idea but can integrate your own creative liberty as well which I enjoy because I like to have structure. I hope to make people think that they are so effortless that they can recreate my piece with ease. I hope that people feel that my pieces can be relatable and not very over the top.
I think that I would like to continue with styles of art similar to watercolor and watercolor itself. I think that if I continue my style will continue to grow and become more complex. I the seven step process is a useful skill that can pertain to other aspects of my life than watercolor because it teaches you to start from being very general to specific and gives organization to any project.
